Description:
Sport fishing or recreational fishing is not a widespread activity in India. Almost every state has one a few locations patronised by aficionados and there are many other streams and rivers frequented by the local population more as a pass time or as they call in local parlance - time pass, than anything else.
AS a result, access to good sport fishing equipment is limited mostly to a few online vendors on ebay. The rest depend on innovative local solutions like the one pictured here - a length of plastic twine wound around a used plastic bottle, with a steel hook on one side. Atta or wheat dough like used for making chapathis is applied all around the hook to act as bait.
On the other hand there are Indian companies that export sport fishing equipment abroad!
Is there a small opportunity in propagating low cost sport fishing equipment in the country?
