HummingBird Suites Private Limited is one of the largest ‘corporate stay solutions’ in India.

Recognising the need for a cost-effective, end-to-end, corporate stay solution, Vinod Thimmaya co-founded HummingBird in 2005.

Thimmaya has over 19 years of experience in sales and marketing. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, he worked in Countrywide, a GE company, in business development and with Modi Xerox in sales. At Modi Xerox, he was a member of the top performers club for six consecutive years. His specialty lies in consultative selling, negotiations, training and strategic alliances.

Since its inception, HummingBird has offered services to corporate clients in the areas of transit accommodation, corporate housing and relocation, events and meeting, as well as large group stay for induction and training activities. Currently, the company has 300 apartments or 750 rooms in Bangalore, Mumbai, Gurgaon, Pune and Hyderabad. Under Thimmaya’s leadership, HummingBird has seen dramatic growth and is expected to touch a turnover of `300 crore. The company is also looking to expand into 22 Indian states and a few international locations through alliances.

HummingBird has served corporate executives and trainees, families, groups and business travelers, as well as clients in software and BPO, travel, consultancy, banking and finance, insurance and media sectors. It has helped companies save 15-20 percent of their travel budgets. Some of the key HummingBird clients are Honeywell, TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Philips, Cisco and JP Morgan.
