Info Edge was founded in 1995 by Sanjeev Bikhchandani. The Founder and Managing Director has taken the company to new heights. As of March 2010, Info Edge had established 67 offices in 41 cities in India, as well as two offices in Dubai which primarily engage in sales, marketing and payment collection. The company also has six subsidiaries and one associate company.
Bikhchandani is a leading entrepreneur of this generation, who along with his partner Hitesh Oberoi, has won the ‘Ernst and Young – Entrepreneur of the Year’ award in 2008 for business transformation. Bikhchandani has also won the Dataquest Pathbreaker Award and the Teacher’s Achievement Award for Business in 2008. He was the Chairman of the Internet and Mobile Association of India for 2008-09. He has co-authored two books on job hunting and careers, and is a frequent speaker on entrepreneurship at conferences and business schools.
Under his leadership, Info Edge became a public limited company in 2006. Since its inception, the company has developed four divisions, which comprise recruitment division (www.naukri.com, www.naukrigulf.com, www.brijj.com and Quadrangle- an executive search agency), matrimonial classifieds division (www.jeevansathi.com), online real estate classifieds division (www.99acres.com) and online educational classifieds division (www.shiksha.com).
