The brain behind India’s first employee-owned company is its Managing Director and CEO, Ram N Agarwal. Prior to WeP, Agarwal founded Wipro’s Peripherals Division known as PSD and grew the division from a `40 crore business to a `232 crore business.
WeP’s products are designed keeping in mind the current requirements of the market, which are high on quality and yet cost-effective. It has two state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh. These facilities have the capacity to produce more than 650,000 products and 1 million consumables per annum. Since its inception, WeP has created India’s largest IT products sales infrastructure of 10,000 active retail outlets and supports more than 2,000 large business consumers directly.
WeP is known for its quality with Six Sigma initiative and has ISO 9000 standards of certification for its
product development, manufacturing, marketing and support. The company has been certified with ISO 14001:2004 for the Himachal facility and ISO 9001-2000 for its support functions.
WeP has established successful partnerships with many international companies like Seiko EPSON Corporation, Hewlett-Packard, Net Apps and Printronix. The company has also been instrumental in introducing new products like the TX40 Range of Receipt Printers, WeP Bounti BP40-which is a compact billing solution for the Indian market that does not need the help of a computer.
