Born to a farmer family in Rahimatpur vilage of Satara district, Gaikwad has inherited and preserved old ascetic values of simplicity and honesty from his family. After his father’s early demise, his mother who was working as a school teacher sacrificed her whole life to give the best possible education to her children with her meager earnings. While pursuing his education in electronics engineering from VIT, Pune, Gaikwad formed a society called Bharat Vikas Pratisthan in 1993, to do something different. After graduation, he worked with M/s.TATA Engineering & Locomotive Limited (now TATA MOTORS) for a period of 5 years in different capacities such as Design Engineer in Engineering Research Centre, Electronics Division and as a Senior Material Executive
While working with them, he requested the management to extend help to un-employed rural youths. “TATA Motors was kind. It soon answered my request and provided housekeeping jobs to 8 people in 1997. Due to quality services, hard work and commitment the strength went up to 200 people within a year. After that I left TATA motors to concentrate fully on BVG INDIA LTD. This way, Bharat Vikas Pratisthan started with its first client as TATA Motors”, says Gaikwad.
He states that his vision behind starting BVG is hidden in its name that is Bharat Vikas Group.
“It all started with providing employment to unemployed rural youth. The only intention I had was to contribute bit by bit towards the growth of India”, explains Gaikwad.
There are a wide number of sectors BVG has delved into. In association with Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation(PCMC), BVG Waste Management Ltd. set up its first plant to convert waste plastic into hydrocarbon fuel. BVG is also involved in providing relocation services to manufacturing units who want to save costs by relocating their units from within the city to its outer limits. It also plays a role in disaster management by planning to undertake projects for retro-fitment of structures against earthquakes. It has also ventured into road cleaning services with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) by developing indigenous machines. Soon, it hopes to start a Facilities Management Training School.
Regarding how he was able to make this company one of the most recognized brands of the country he simply says, “It was all possible only because of the sincere hard work and quality of service which we provide to our customers”
