Since the royals do not make any direct purchases, they commissioned Boden, an online fashion business, to scout for the right company to create the scarves. Boden picked Ludhiana based company Centex Exports from among numerous competitors to do the honours.
Centex MD Vineet Sood says he cannot think of a greater ‘Aha’ moment than this. “After all, it is the wedding of the century,” says he. We agree.
Made of superfine wool, the reversible scarves knitted in animal print are designed as the Union Jack. They come in three colours, and each one costs 45 pounds.
Centex Exports’ customer base ranges from luxury to High Street, including Banana Republic, Hugo Boss, Ann Taylor, Mulberry, Ralph Lauren, GAP and Esprit.
| Centex Success Secrets • Thorough market research and subscriptions to publications and websites, to stay abreast of global fashion • High quality products at competitive pricing • Strict quality control and close coordination with the client • State-of-the-art design studios • A keenness to push the envelope |
