The Parliamentary committee has thumbed down the UID bill which will enable the UIDAI to roll out the project full scale. News reports said that the house panel had raised objection to the duplicacy in the process with that of the national census.
According to reports, the home ministry too had raised an issue of security compromise.
As it stands the UID project will only get stalled. The bill's passage will not happen in the current session.
