The Department of Land Resources, M/o Rural Development, in collaboration with the States/UTs has organized a three day long NLRMP Technological Fair 2009. The major engines of technological transformation in India and abroad are participating in this Technical Fair-2009.
There are 62 stalls for the technology partner to display their product and also to demonstrate the end products of the various facets of NLRMP. There will also be a number of presentations in the hall simultaneously. An interaction area has also been planned where the stakeholders can hold discussions and exchange business know-how for further interactions. The fair was inaugurated by the Minister of State for Rural Development Shishir Adhikariin the presence of Pradeep Jain “Aditya” and Agatha Sangma, both the Ministers of State for Rural Development.
The Department of Land Resources has launched one of the largest land records management program in the world. This involves the use of high-end world class technology at each phase of the program. While it has been the constant endeavor of both the Central Government and the States/UTs to absorb the high-end technology, as quickly as possible, yet gaps remain in its even dissemination across the country. On one hand, it may be difficult for the technology to reach all the States/UTs, and on the other, inconvenient for the States/UTs to keep abreast of the technological advancements taking place, not only in India but across the Globe. Thus, the NLRMP Technological Fair 2009 is an experiment to bring all the stake holders of the NLRMP together on one platform for a free and meaningful dialogue so that the program gets a major leap forward through faster technology transfers. It is expected that the event will become an integral feature of the NLRMP.
