GAO RFID Inc. has released an active UHF RFID tag which has an expandable memory of 8,000bytes for storing user and process information. This optimized RFID tag features low power consumption, long communication range and a high data transmission rate. Using progressive UHF radio frequency technology, the tag transmits data at distances of up to 100 feet to a handheld device or up to 300 feet to a fixed interrogator. It is specially designed for collecting real-time data for identification, tracking, tracing and localization.
This power efficient active RFID tag, model 137004, utilizes an anti-collision multi-tag handling algorithm which provides accurate and efficient communication even in the presence of a large number of tags. 2,000 tags can be identified simultaneously. The RFID tag is equipped with an optional LED for visual identification and an optional sensor for monitoring temperature. It measures and logs the temperature of goods in definable intervals. This portable RFID tag eliminates RF flooding through software-controlled read/write operations. It has a long battery life span of over 6 years without replacement. In addition, its non-line-of-sight data transmission capability allows it to be read even when it is buried.
