Today any discussion on manufacturing sector in India is incomplete without a mention of the metal industry. The country has now become one of the largest metallurgical industries in the world. A credit for this can be given to the presence of several ferrous and non-ferrous metal industries in India and its massive deposits of iron ore, bauxite, etc. Recently, the metal industry has performed really well and provided an impetus to the domestic market.
The resilient outlook of the metallurgical industry in India has attracted many foreign investments. To discuss the current trends in this industry and for the development of the metals sector, the events arm of Minerals & Metals Review magazine will be organizing the second edition of its seminar ‘Mission Metallurgy India 2010’, during February 11, 2010, at Bombay Exhibition Center, Mumbai. It will be held concurrent to the event-cum-exhibition ‘Metallurgy India 2010’ organized by Messe Düsseldorf India Pvt. Ltd. It will enable and facilitate promotion of joint efforts for modernizing and broadening the minerals and metallurgical industry.
The seminar would serve as a launch-pad for discussion as the eminent speakers will impart knowledge on new products, technology and innovations in the metallurgical and metals sectors.
The seminar will begin with ‘Opening Session’ that will include panel discussion from the ministry officials (for steel & mining), analysts and the top executives from the industry. The other sessions will include discussion on mining, foundry & refractory, iron & steel, aluminum, copper and zinc.
To examine the latest ventures and investments in metallurgical sector, the seminar has a special session on ‘Investments’, wherein the speakers will review new projects and finance involved in the industry.
It will draw together the metallurgical, technical and engineering personnel and will be an interesting platform for the executives who are looking to get updated on latest technology and industry information on the metal production and processing. It is envisaged as a catalyst for the development of metals, minerals, metallurgy, and materials sectors in India.
