The Government has approved a scheme for development of 1202.44 km of National Highways and 4363.45 km of State Highways in the Naxal affected areas of eight states at an estimated cost of Rs. 7300 crores. While the National Highways would be constructed in Andhra Pradesh (119.95 km), Bihar (75.50 km), Chattisgarh (410 Km), Jharkhand (534.16 km) and Uttar Pradesh (62.83 km), State highways would be constructed in all the eight states including Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Orissa.
