REVA - BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) to set-up 100 free chargeports for Delhiites

REVA Electric Car Company (RECC) and BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) announced the installation of free chargeports at various locations in East and Central Delhi. The first three REVA chargeports were inaugurated by in East Delhi today by occasion Ramesh Narayana, CEO, BYPL and Pavan Sachdeva, Head Marketing, REVA Electric Car Company, marking the significance of Energy Conservation. The "plug and go" charging points are free to use as BYPL has agreed to offer free charging facilities for REVA customers commencing today until Common Wealth Games - October, 2010. This is the first time RECC has tied-up with a power distribution company in India to provide infrastructure set up for REVA users in national capital.

The first three chargeports inaugurated are located at:

◦The red building between KKD HO and CGRF Court.
◦The 66KV Group Housing 2 stores/grid near Hasanpur Depot facing Victor School near Max Hospital in PPG.
◦The Chilla Grid adjacent to the Riverside Club and close to Star City Mall in addition to the new Hotel and the CGHS by IDFC/IFCI.
In the next 48 weeks REVA and BYPL plan to roll out more free chargeports in and around BYPL manned locations in East and Central Delhi. Allowing electric vehicle owners the freedom to roam knowing they will never run out of charge in BYPL area due to the association between REVA & BYPL.

Chetan Maini, Deputy Chairman and Chief Technology Officer of REVA at this occasion said, "REVAs commitment of conserving the environment is further strengthened with our association with BYPL. We envision this to be the beginning that will enable a green Delhi via implementation of charging infrastructure, encouraging greater use of alternate mobility solutions for daily commute"..

Speaking on the occasion Ramesh Narayanan - CEO, BYPL said, "This is yet another way for BYPL to show its concern towards energy conservation. On the occasion of the National Energy Conservation day, BYPL is happy to be associating with REVA - a national manufacturer of electric cars with an international presence."
