TiE Entrepreneurial Summit
Entrepreneurial sentiment grips the nation. This entrepreneurial sentiment drives one's passion to turn business idea into a business enterprise. To keep pace with the sentiment, the TiE Entrepreneurship Summit 2010, the annual conference of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) is going to be held this year by the Delhi-NCR Chapter at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi from December 21 to 23rd, 2010. TiE Entrepreneurial Summit 2010 will focus on generating business ideas to double the number of private ventures in the country’s thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The Summit will bring together some of the finest thought leaders like Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen, celebrated entrepreneurs like NR Narayana Murthy, Sunil Kant Munjal, country’s top private banker Chanda Kochar. In addition, the Summit hopes to bring together another 100 plus entrepreneurs and high achievers from diverse fields who will share their inspirational stories with over 2000 attendees in different interactive sessions during these three days. There will be a series of interactive sessions with home grown entrepreneurs and other stake holders.

The attendees will get benefited to learn about entrepreneurial opportunities in education and training, clean technology, internet, retail, telecom and social sector. The summit will be packed with ground breaking presentations, interactive breakout sessions, live demonstrations etc.  The event will foster networking opportunities to all entrepreneurs across sectors and TiE Young Entrepreneurs as well.

Dwelling on the summit theme, Enterprising India, TiE Chairman Emeritus Saurabh Srivastava said, “Deployment of technology in education, healthcare, skill development at the bottom of the pyramid offers vast opportunities for entrepreneurs. A dialogue between Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen and Infosys’ founder NR Narayana Murthy on day one will set the tone of deliberations over the next three days.”

Pradeep Gupta, President, TiE Delhi NCR expressed, “To fulfill its aspiration of doubling the number of private ventures, the TiE summit will seed the idea of turning young graduates into entrepreneurs and job creators. For this, TiE will initiate a series of engagements with Indian youth to open their minds to the vast entrepreneurial opportunities.”

As a run up to the conference, TiE Delhi NCR has launched initiatives; one of them is the “Idea2Enterprise” a student business plan competition to identify their innovative ideas. The participants will find session on risks and rewards of entrepreneurship meaningful. The Gurukul sessions by successful TiE members will help reassure budding entrepreneurs that they are on the right track.

A Private Equity firm and a TiE member, Lumis Partners is inviting early stage companies founded less than 5 years ago to identify and acknowledge them with TiE-Lumis Partners Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards. The TiE-Lumis Partners Excellence Awards, now in its third year, will recognize the innovative work and passion of the entrepreneurs who braved many odds to make a mark for themselves. Ms. Geetika Dayal, Executive Director, TiE Delhi- NCR said, “TiE will identify outstanding efforts of three young Indians who have put their blood, sweat and equity to nurture an idea, and set up successful ventures. The special young men and women so recognized will provide inspiration to tens of thousands of Indians waiting to turn entrepreneurs.”

Referring to TiE’s aspiration to double the number of entrepreneurs in the country, Ms Dayal said that TiE members will share their inspirational stories, wealth of knowledge and unmatched experience to kick start this process. Mr. Sandeep Sinha, Managing Partner, Lumis Partners said, “We are happy to jointly promote the spirit of entrepreneurship and honour the effort behind each successful venture.”
