Day 1: How can entrepreneurship tackle India’s corruption woes?
With the buzz that is anti-corruption currently on the top of the mind of every Indian citizen, this session could not have happened on a better time. Akshay Shah’s take was not that of eradicating corruption completely (because, let us face it, it is close to impossible), but to reduce corruption substantially by creating an ecosystem of mass entrepreneurship. Simply put, this will generate jobs that are well paying, that need not be bribed to get, that don’t pay lowly as government jobs etc. Also, PPP innovations that take government processes online will put an audit control in place.

Day 2: How to make your business more productive using communication tools?
In this session, CSN Murthy essentially spoke about the benefits of cloud telephony for businesses. He cited case-studies wherein the human resource required for attending calls from customers (receptionist/customer care) can be easily mitigated, and a robust system using cloud telephony service can be put into place. Entrepreneurs can even have these services taking care of collecting payments over the phone, informing status of orders placed, etc. All these tools helps a lot in improved customer satisfaction, which in turn makes the job of acquiring and retaining customers easy.

Day 3: How to minimize overheads and mange cost at the initial stage?
Ashok Shastry began the session with highlighting three mistakes that entrepreneur make in the startup phase: a) Getting too much money on to the table b) Spending too much c) Chasing the wrong accounts. To avoid these mistakes, he said, an entrepreneur should follow the scaffolding structure. A scaffolding structure is a temporary but safe structure used to build permanent structure in an organization. He further suggested how can overheads be reduced in the areas such as hiring a productive team, increasing sales and marketing activities, being financially prudent
and more.

Day 4: How to make use of digital marketing to manage your brand?
“Affinity towards a brand is a byproduct of the message you create,” said Chris George, ““Brands are now being built online. More and more marketing dollars are being shifted to digital media”. You would think that is just stating the obvious but with the emergence of online media, digital marketing has gained huge potential. He broadly classified digital media into 4 categories, on the basis of how brands can leverage themselves: Website creation, Search optimization, Social media activities, and Mobile platforms.

Day 5: Young Indian entrepreneurs going global
We concluded the June Edition of Entrepreneur Week by bringing something refreshing to the forum - 17 year old Ritesh Agarwal. He stressed on identifying work cultures across the globes and keeping yourself updated.  “The first thing you need is to become a global citizen — identify what is happening in the Chinese market when sitting at a boardroom in India,” said Ritesh, “Pay attention to details — the difference between just Chinese and Hong Kong Chinese”. He cited the example of  are how Groupon started with a funding of 1 million. Such culture does not exist in India and hence one needs to strategize and plan. Similarly, studying consumer attitude for every region is important.
