Quality of service-support of Dell and HTC in New Delhi, India

Not so long back, some people I know were being skeptical about the service and support quality of Dell, India. Well I got an opportunity to check it out. I own a Dell Inspiron notebook which started giving me a problem of excessive heating up and intermittent shutdowns.
I called them up last Thursday and reported the problem. On Friday their engineers showed up at my office and replaced the fan and heat sync – no questions asked. While they were at it, they noticed that the thread of a heat sync holding slot on the motherboard was damaged. This called for a change in the motherboard (one of the most expensive part in a notebook), and that is what they did. They themselves reported the issue to Dell and gave me a new ticket number for this issue. On Saturday, they called and wanted to come for replacing the motherboard (again, no questions asked), but I was at home. So it did not happen that day. On Monday, their engineer shows up on the decided time and replaces the motherboard.
Needless to say, I am extremely happy with Dell's support in India – one call to the toll free number is all it took. Some of my friends too have good things to say about Dell (read: Dell Support Shines Again). Just now, I have had the IT Manager of a mid-size company praising Dell support for their company's servers.
I have owned an Acer notebook in the 2005-2006 period, and their support was sinfully bad. Then I had a Compaq Presario in the 2007-2008 period, and the problem with their support was that for even the smallest of things they wanted to take the notebook to their service center (and return it in a day or two).
Coming to HTC now. I own a HTC P3000 (Reliance CDMA). I happened to lose both the stylus. It has been over two months now. I am running from pillar to post, and I still do not have the stylus. I have walked into the authorized service centers and they have taken a 'note' of this. I have followed up with them for months now. I have written to the national head of HTC. I am about to write mails to some email addresses that were given to me by the authorized service centers for escalation of the issue. The thing is, HTC GSM handset has nice support out here; but in case of CDMA handset spare parts & accessories, the scene is pathetic. This is true for most of the CDMA handset makers in my opinion. As of now, I am using ball point pen tips, toothpicks, pencils, etc as the stylus.
So, there you go... anyone who has been looking for support testimonies for a buying decision – have one right here! :)

Being a Member of Sales & Marketing Team Vodafone India, I don’t understand this Poor Service Technical Organization whose Name is HTC :-(.
I know we all have wasted our money by buying your Product (39,000 Per Handset), as none of your Team Member is interested in Customers with sold products. Plz take it as a feedback for your Team for improvement. And if possible then plz give resolution to us as well.

Dell's service and quality of notebooks is pathetic. My laptop has been overly heating since couple of days. Ticket 2220912 was opened for it. The customer care diagnosis is -'open the laptop with a screwdriver. If you cant we will not help you. '
When I spoke to one of their supervisors Vijay Kumar(r_vjay_kumar@dell.com), he was willing to escalate the issue. Not from the customer side but the support side!! He says he will send my issue to the Escalation department that customer is not cooperating!!!
DELL customer service should get a place in Guiness Book. Nobody can beat them in it.
